As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine & Executive Director of BioGals, I bring a self-driven, adaptable, and courageous approach to addressing global sustainability challenges. My research focuses on resource recovery from anthropogenic waste, improving water quality, and applying life cycle thinking to advance equity at the food-energy-water nexus. I am committed to translational science that addresses real-world problems and evolves with emerging challenges, developing practical, innovative solutions that support ecological resilience and more equitable resource distribution in a changing world.
